Job Description: Colorist (Colorometrist)
Responsible for developing, adjusting and controlling color formulations, ensuring that the inks used in flexible printing meet the technical specifications and quality standards required by customers. The Colorist plays a key role in the customization and accurate reproduction of colors, collaborating with the production sector to achieve excellence in the final result.
Main Responsibilities:
Color Development:
Create and adjust color formulations according to customer specifications and production orders.
Use measurement systems and equipment, such as spectrophotometers and densitometers, to ensure accuracy in color tone and density.
Develop custom colors, always seeking high fidelity to the requested standard.
Adjustments and Corrections:
Adjust inks directly on the printing machine, when necessary, to correct shade differences during production.
Identify variations and deviations from the standard and apply solutions to correct them.
Quality control:
Ensure that paints comply with standards for viscosity, adhesion, gloss and other technical parameters.
Conduct laboratory tests to assess the resistance of paints to specific conditions, such as abrasion, heat or solvents.
Input Management:
Control the stock of paints and pigments, requesting replacements when necessary to avoid interruptions in the production process.
Develop and record formulations, maintaining an organized and updated database.
Production Support:
Collaborate with machine operators to ensure correct use of paints and adherence to color standards.
Provide technical support to the printing team to resolve issues related to coloring.
Documentation and Reports:
Record test results, adjustments and corrections made.
Prepare reports on paint performance and color standards for analysis and continuous improvement.
Equipment Maintenance:
Ensure that laboratory equipment, such as mixers, scales and spectrophotometers, is in good working order and clean.
Request maintenance or replacement of equipment when necessary.
Security and Organization:
Strictly follow safety standards when handling paints, solvents and pigments.
Keep the work environment clean and organized, ensuring adequate conditions for carrying out activities.
Requirements:
Training:
Completed high school.
Technical or professional course in Chemistry, Graphic Production or related areas desirable.
Experience:
Minimum 2 years' experience in similar roles, preferably in flexible printing companies.
Technical Knowledge:
Knowledge of solvent, water and UV based inks, as well as their chemical properties.
Experience with color measurement equipment such as spectrophotometers and densitometers.
Familiarity with color matching systems (Pantone or similar).
Understanding the steps of the flexible printing process, especially flexography and rotogravure.
Skills:
Attention to detail and high accuracy in color reproduction.
Organization to manage formulations and records.
Good communication skills to interact with the production team and internal customers.
Ability to solve problems and work under pressure.

Working hours from Monday to Saturday:
Shift: 6:00 am to 2:00 pm
Shift: 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm
Shift: 10:00 pm to 6:00 am
Shift: 12 x 36
Note: Shifts may be changed (rotation of operational staff)
